Insurance can be complex. There's much to know to be sure you're doing all you can to get what you deserve. Here are some personal
and business insurance tips to get you started. We update this information regularly, so check back soon for new tips.
Personal Insurance Tips
Personal Property Inventory
Keep an inventory of your personal property and update it at least twice a year. Be sure to record serial numbers and retain receipts for electronics and fire arms. Keep an updated photo album of the items to have proof of ownership should you need to file a claim.
Appraisals
Keep copies of appraisals with photographs for any high value items. Most insurance companies will require an appraisal for jewelry that exceeds $5000 in value. File copies of the appraisals with us as well.
Renter's Insurance
If you are renting, it is important to have renter's coverage to protect your personal property. If you experience a loss, your property will not be covered without it. Many new apartment complexes will require renter's coverage for their tenants. This is very affordable coverage.
Claims
If you feel you have a claim, please reach out to your agent prior to calling the insurance carrier.
Liability Insurance
Many customers are suprised at the lack of liability coverage in their current policies. The minimums required by law are frequently not enough to protect you in the event of a claim.
Automobile Insurance
Give us a call if you are in the market for a new vehicle. We can provide immediate quotes for coverage on the vehicles you are comparing to assist with your purchase decision.
Life Insurance
Most advertisements for life insurance quote the preferred rate for the demographics they are quoting. Be sure to ask for a quote at the standard rate. The preferred rate is rarely accurate once the policy has been processed through the underwriting department of the insurance carrier.
